Grandmother of Ohiyesa
Ohiyesa or Charles Alexander Eastman, was a Santee Dakota physician educated at Boston University. He was also a writer and reformer who in the early 20th century, was "one of the most prolific authors and speakers on Sioux ethnohistory [2] and American Indian affairs."
I love the quote in the title of this post because of its hidden wisdom; and the unique way in which it tips its cap to legacy. This idea that we all have the potential to affect each other in profound ways through simple acts of kindness, and a willingness to share insights gained through careful introspection and connection with our surroundings; and with all those who came before us, and in some ways still sit with us now.
