It’s the first of the month. Time for some gratitude…

written by john c ashworth

I reported yesterday here on the blog that I believe everyone should spend at least one full year working as a full-time, one hundred percent commissioned salesperson.  There is nothing else like it.  Case in point is today, November first.  Yes, a new month has commenced and now we start all over again.  What have you done for me lately?

If you get a chance to watch the video I posted yesterday, I discussed openly my personal challenge yesterday - to sell ONE car and get it down the road no matter what.  I needed it to hit my bonus for the month.  A month that was flat and much more of a grind than the last two.  A month full of all the same adversity that often surrounds this profession.  All of it reinforcing my belief that we should all sell for a living for at least a short period of time.  It builds character and will show you what you're truly made of, and even better, what you have the opportunity to become when you decide to shed all of your old bullshit.

That's why it's so important for me to send this monthly dose of gratitude.  First, it's an excellent opportunity to say thank you to all of you and especially to those that just bought a car last month.  In the grand scheme of the problems the world faces each day, buying and selling nice cars can begin to seem trite.  As a result, the experience is easy to take for granted.  Both for you as a customer, and especially for me as a salesperson.  I want you to know that I appreciate you and that YOU are an important part of my life and of what I set out to accomplish each and every day for all of you.  My mission is to provide customers with an unmatched car buying experience before, during and after the sale.  This is more than just buying a car.  It is human connection that can lead us to good things.

Thank you for your trust, your business, and the opportunity to share time and space with you in this cosmic soup.

-John

PS  ...and thanks for buying a car in October.  It's the month we celebrate Halloween, but income for me that arrives just prior to the Christmas season.  On behalf of my family and I, I want to thank you once again for helping us to thrive, and to celebrate the holiday season.
